Meet The Equipment

The Reformer

The versatile Pilates Reformer is used for alignment correction, rehabilitation and fitness. There are over 100+ exercises and many more variations  performed lying, sitting or standing. The movable carriage facilitates easy correction of posture alignment from head to toe while the client learns to coordinate proper breathing and core connection with each movement. Attached springs of various resistance can facilitate rehabilitative type work or provide a potentially more intense and dynamic workout than mat-based Pilates. The reformer improves core stabilization, muscular balance, joint alignment and spine elongation while effectively working the entire body. Straps for arms and legs work the muscles through increasing range of motion with varying tension. This builds deep strength and stability in the joints while increasing flexibility of the muscles. The reformer is an excellent tool for athletic cross training improving balance, coordination and control.

The Cadillac

The Pilates Cadillac is great for fitness or rehab purposes using straps and springs to build increasing strength and stability that can change a body rapidly. You can work lying down, sitting or standing depending on your level of difficulty. You will become more adept at recognizing your own body’s habits as you become more familiar with the subtleties of the exercises. Exercises on the Cadillac help to develop long lean muscles and improve blood flow and circulation.

The Stability Chair

The Stability Chair demands the most strength of all the Pilates equipment because less of one’s body is on the apparatus. Exercises done sitting, standing or kneeling offer a variety of ways to rapidly build core strength and stamina. The Chair provides an efficient total body workout enhancing muscular balance, joint stability and flexibility in a short time.

The All-Mighty Mat

Do not underestimate the power of the Pilates mat. Performed on an exercise mat, this series of precision exercises is the foundation of Pilates. With each exercise you learn to move from the center or deep core of your body, leading with your breath and focusing on spine mobility and control. The exercises can be very challenging, but most can be adapted for any fitness or age level. No special equipment is needed for class; you learn to use your own body weight as resistance. There are thirty-four original exercises and endless variations which make for wide variety in classes.
