For Rehabilitation & Recovery

Pilates develops the deep core muscles and aligns the body by strengthening small muscles around the joints effectively balancing the muscles from the inside out. This makes it an ideal system to rebuild injured muscles.   Neck discomfort, shoulder, back, knee and hip pain can all be improved with Pilates training. Pilates improves joint mobility, muscle flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination.

For Dancers

Dancers train rigorously to gain exquisite control over their bodies to do the things they do so beautifully – leaps, jumps, turns, smooth or sharp movements. Overuse injuries (ankles, knees, hips, back) can be common in dancers.

Pilates balances the rigors of dance training and performing by strengthening smaller stabilizing muscles around joints while developing deep core strength and stability. Pilates training creates long lean muscles, improves upper body strength and power and increases flexibility, coordination, balance and control.  Balancing the stronger and weaker muscles prevents injuries.

For Posture

Proper posture means correct alignment of the body from head to toe and correct balance between opposing muscles front to back and side to side. That means no pain, no discomfort. It means freedom of motion and being less prone to injury. Pilates corrects improper posture by strengthening the deep core muscles as (the stabilizing factor of the body) and activating the ‘forgotten’ posture muscles such as the shoulder blade s stabilizers, the mid back and rib cage support muscles.  Each exercise is designed to move the body towards a more ideal posture.

For Fitness, Weight-loss & Strength

Pilates improves your fitness level because it builds strength from the inside out while balancing muscles throughout your entire body. This results in more power, enhanced agility, flexibility and stamina. Strengthening the small stabilizing muscles around joints creates smoother and more efficient motion in all activities. Your body slims down as the overdeveloped muscles lengthen and your weaker muscles strengthen creating a longer, leaner and more fit body.

For Athletes

Golfing, running, hiking, walking, gymnastics, tennis, equestrian sports, bicycling, weightlifting and more – each exercise form has inherent repetitive motion creating potential muscular imbalance. Pilates exercises stretch tighter muscles, strengthens weaker muscles, stabilizes joints and improves flexibility creating a fluid, more powerful athlete. Developing deep core muscles is the primary action to balance and stabilize the whole body. Pilates improves coordination, control, fluidity and power for any athlete resulting in far fewer injuries.
