HOW TO KNOW IF YOU ARE GETTING TRUE PILATES
To get started, each new client starts by receiving a posture evaluation. This determines the existing scene of the body and any misalignment or muscular imbalance. Then we look at the ideal scene – with visuals. Then you learn about the muscles of the core and what exactly they do – with visuals. From this information, a program is developed to correct any misalignment and balance the muscles and take you through the steps to achieve your goals. Then we do the program. And get the results.
Pilates works from the inside out, from the deep muscles to the surface muscles to create true strength and stability. Then you can increase flexibility. The definition of Pilates is: stretch, with strength and control.
“You are as young as your spine is flexible”, Joseph Pilates stated. To have a flexible spine, you must have a strong core.
Mr. Pilates called his method: The Art of Contrology. The derivation of ‘art’ means ‘to join’. To fully control something, you must fully join with it. Surprise! My goal is to create works of art!
