What is CoreAlign?
The CoreAlign equipment is used in pilates, physical therapy and athlete training to increase strength, power, coordination, endurance and agility. It is highly effective for rehabilitation and injury prevention for beginners or elite athlete - any performance level.
CoreAlign was designed by physical therapist, Jonathan Hoffman in the early 2000s. Mr. Hoffman was looking to improve his patient’s core control, posture, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and dynamic alignment. Sounds like pilates, no? It does use much of the same principles as pilates but focuses on standing exercises and functional movement patterns such as gait pattern and balance. Yes, it IS a great complement to pilates!
Zonnie found it extremely effective when looking to rehabilitate and strengthen her knees from old dance injuries. The results were rapid:
“When I was first training with my CoreAlign and instructor Linda Igarashi, I would be amazed that one exercise on CoreAlign would vanquish my knee pain by removing tension and strain through the lower leg. I would arrive at the session with my knee aching without realizing that my lower leg was rotated. This problem would unravel rapidly while doing the simple gait function series of exercises. Brilliant! When I opened my new Pilates studio, the CoreAlign machine was the first piece of equipment I purchased. Thank you, Linda! Zonnie
